How to Improve Eyesight Naturally



A steady supply of nutrients helps keep our eyes healthy and maintains good eyesight as we age. There are plenty of foods that if consumed in the adequate amount on a daily basis can maintain and improve eye health and eyesight, such as:

1) Carrots: Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which is an antioxidant and a precursor of vitamin, helps improve eyesight by preventing oxidative damage and inflammation.

2) Spinach: It is rich in vitamins A, E, B, and C and minerals like iron and zinc and phytonutrients. The phytonutrients have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that make spinach effective against macular degeneration and cataracts. In addition to this, zinc and spinach found in spinach helps maintain the cornea health.

3) Dairy Products: Dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese are loaded with calcium, zinc and vitamin A. Vitamin A helps strengthen the cornea, and zinc facilitates the transport of vitamin A from the liver to eyes and also helps prevent cataract and improves night vision.

5) Citrus Fruits: The eyes need a steady supply of antioxidants to flush out the toxins which are produced during the metabolic reactions. Citrus fruits like oranges, berries, kiwis, etc., are loaded with vitamin C, which is an excellent antioxidant that fights off harmful free radicals, and thus protects eye muscles from damage. 

6) Beans and Legumes: These are a rich source of zinc and bioflavonoid that helps keep retina healthy and reduces the risk of developing a cataract. You can consume lentils, chickpeas, kidney beans, green peas, sprouts, etc.

7) Sweet Potato: The sweet potato is rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, these are powerful antioxidants that help flush out the toxins and reduce inflammation that helps improve eyesight naturally.
